The classic musical CATS, is reimagined into an extravaganza of modern musical theatre, coming to the Concourse Theatre October 2023!
Cats is a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. The musical tells the story of the Jellicle cats, a tribe of cats who meet once a year for the Jellicle Ball, where one cat is chosen to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a new life.
The musical features a diverse and memorable score, including popular songs such as "Memory," "Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats," and "The Rum Tum Tugger."
Throughout the musical, the cats introduce themselves to the audience and tell their stories, some of them sad, some of them funny, some of them nostalgic, but all of them entertaining. The cats are portrayed as distinct individuals, each with their own personality, and the show explores themes of identity, community, and the cycle of life and death.
Cats is a classic musical that has been entertaining audiences for decades. The imaginative and fantastical world of the Jellicle cats and the memorable music, make it a must-see for fans of theater and musicals. It's a show that appeals to all ages, and it's a perfect blend of storytelling, music, and dance.
