At 8.30pm, for the 18th consecutive year, we're switching off the Opera House lights in support of Earth Hour.

Earth Hour started right here in Australia in 2007, and has since grown to include millions of people in over 190 countries around the world and we are proud that the Opera House is one of the landmarks that have participated since its inception.

By encouraging us all to turn off our lights for just one hour, Earth Hour is a conversation starter and a momentum builder.

We believe that action to secure a healthy future for people and planet is everyone's responsibility, so taking part in the community-lead Earth Hour is one of the ways we are inspiring everyone to take positive action in their everyday lives.
