Kinky Boots is a musical with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. The musical is based on the 2005 film of the same name, which tells the true story of a struggling shoe factory in Northampton, England.
The musical tells the story of Charlie Price, who inherits a failing shoe factory from his father and struggles to keep it afloat. Charlie's fortunes change when he meets Lola, a drag queen, who suggests that he should start producing footwear for drag queens to save the business. Charlie and Lola form an unlikely partnership, and together they learn to embrace their differences and create something beautiful.
The musical features a lively and upbeat score with popular songs such as "Sex is in the Heel," "Everybody Say Yeah," "Soul of a Man" and "Raise You Up."
