Brass curious? Sydney Conservatorium of Music is throwing open the doors for a Brass Day on Saturday 6 April, 2024 with an event showcasing some of Australia’s trumpet, horn and trombone stars.

From 9.30am, Brass Day offers a range of warm-up classes, masterclasses and performances featuring members of the Royal Australian Navy Band, Conservatorium students and a number of the country’s top brass players, including Sydney Symphony Orchestra Principal Trumpet David Elton, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Principal Trumpet Owen Morris, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra Principal Trumpet Leanne Sullivan, French Horn players Euan Harvey and Rachel Silver, SSO Associate Principal Trombone Scott Kinmont and tuba player Scott Frankcombe.

The day’s events include a Welcome and Opening Concert (9.30am), a lunchtime Concert featuring Con Brass Ensemble (12.30pm), afternoon masterclasses and a Royal Australian Navy Band Concert at 5.30pm in the Con’s Verbrugghen Hall.
