Romeo and Juliet
Uniting Church Hall, Gosford
Presented by by William Shakespeare
From Romance to Rest
Although love today is seen as a universal positive force, in particular instances, it can serve as a destructive influence. In William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, this concept is placed into action revolving around the story of two star-crossed lovers. Romeo Montague met Juliet Capulet at a party, and they fell in love instantly. However, their love cannot be proclaimed, because they belong to opposing families. Through their misadventures, the couple eventually takes their own lives. Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own deaths through Romeo's impulsiveness that led him to commit irrational decisions, Juliet's refusal to obey her parents, and their passion that blinded their choices.
