NEWS from Symphony Central Coast
Lawrence of Arabia is a 1962 epic historical drama film based on the life of Thomas Edward Lawrence, a British archaeologist, army officer, diplomat, and writer, and with the ploy focusing around his 1926 book Seven Pillars of Wisdom.
After other composers were unavailable for the project, Maurice Jarre was chosen to score the movie, having only SIX WEEKS to complete two whole hours of orchestral music.
Despite this short window of opportunity, the score went on to garner Jarre his first Academy Award for Music Score Substantially Original , and is now considered one of the greatest scores of all time, ranking #3 on the American Film Institute's top twenty-five film scores
Come see Symphony Central Coast perform the overture from this phenomenal score on 2nd of April 2023 at The Art House Wyong!
