Congratulations to our creatives and performers who won six 2022 Sydney Theatre Awards across four productions STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE, THE TEMPEST, RBG: OF MANY, ONE and A RAISIN IN THE SUN
Kip Williams adaptation of STRANGE CASE OF DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE swept up three awards inc. Best Direction of a Mainstage Production (Kip Williams), Best Sound Design of a Mainstage Production (Michael Toisuta) and Best Lighting Design of a Mainstage Production (Nick Schlieper for his 100th STC production!).
Heather Mitchell took out the award for Best Performer in a Leading Role in a Mainstage Production for her performance in RBG: OF MANY, ONE and Best Performer in a Supporting Role in a Mainstage Production went to Peter Carroll for his portrayal of Ariel in Kip Williams THE TEMPEST.
Mel Page was awarded Best Stage Design of a Mainstage Production for her work on Lorraine Hansberrys A RAISIN IN THE SUN.
STC was nominated for 23 awards in total. We want to congratulate all the nominees, winners and send a big thanks to all who made 2022 an incredible year of theatre in Sydney #SydTA
